Qualified from St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1983 and trained in both general and gynaecological surgery and obstetrics. He has been a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at St Georges Hospital London since 1997 and is currently Clinical Director of the unit. He specialises in the treatment of gynaecological cancers and pre-invasive disease of the lower genital tract. He is the Lead Clinician for Colposcopy and Vulval Disorders at St Georges Hospital where approximately 4,000 women are seen each year. He also performs surgery for gynaecological cancers and the more complex surgery for benign disease. He is also an experienced Obstetrician and still has commitments on the Delivery Suite at St Georges where almost 5,000 deliveries take place each year and has the Regional Neo-natal Unit for complex peri-natal problems. Working in a teaching hospital, he has responsibilities for both under-graduate and post-graduate education and is involved in research .
