Dr Justine Setchell BSc, MB BS, MD

Dr Justine Setchell qualified from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1990. Having completed her pre-registration training, she embarked on her general practice training over the following 3 years, covering trauma medicine, elderly medicine, psychiatry and obstetrics and gynaecology, during which period she studied for and obtained her DRCOG and MRCGP. She married Nick, now a consultant gynaecologist, in 1993.
She became a partner in a large practice in Twickenham in 1995, combining this with early motherhood, having her 2 children during this time. Whilst working at this practice she was the mentor for her practice nurse during her nurse practitioner training, completed extended coil training and gained experience in medical acupuncture, family planning, sexual health and preventative medicine.
After 8 years of partnership, Dr Setchell transferred to a University GP practice in Kingston which enabled her to work more around the children during their primary school years. At the same time, she started to develop an interest in Occupational Medicine, working for Dr Paul Simpkin in Upper Wimpole Street and gaining her Diploma in Occupational Medicine in 2007. She has been the Occupational Health Physician for John Lewis Oxford Street since 2008.
Since September 2009, Dr Setchell has been working as a private GP in Notting Hill, Chelsea and Chiswick, enabling her to spend quality time with, and provide an excellent service to, her patients which she had increasingly found difficult to do within the constraints of the NHS.
She has now established a new private General Practice at 92 Harley Street with her colleague Dr Fiona Payne. Together, they aim to provide an approachable, friendly practice with the highest quality healthcare, delivered both by them and their contacts with an extensive range of consultant colleagues.
Dr Setchell has always enjoyed life outside medicine and especially enjoys cooking, reading and theatre as well as Pilates, running, swimming and cycling. She is aiming to attempt her first triathlon next summer.
